Comcast Donation

Comcast presented a check for $37,500 to Mickey’s House, a North Charleston-based facility that supports homeless students attending nearby R.B. Stall High School on Tuesday, February 27, 2018

Operated by Project H.O.M.E., Mickey’s House is a two-story, five-bedroom house that opened its doors in 2017 and is designed to support homeless teen boys. The program is led by Mr. Kim Wilson, Charleston County’s Executive Director of Secondary Learning and a former principal at R.B. Stall High School.

“We are proud to support Mickey’s House, and look forward to the positive impact that today’s announcement will have on these young men’s lives,” said Doug Guthrie, Comcast’s Regional SVP.

Research illustrates that homeless children in Charleston and across the country are particularly vulnerable to dropping out of school. Project H.O.M.E. provides these at-risk students with support to keep them focused on their goals of graduation and beyond.

Mickey’s House is located at 2954 Explorer Drive in North Charleston. Members of the media are encouraged to attend the event.
