Where we are!
Mickey’s House was established in 2017 as a non-profit 501-C3 home for displaced male students between the ages of 17 and 21. Students must be on a high school diploma track. We have had 7 displaced students reside at Mickey’s House in two and one-half years. Four students have graduated from high school and two of those students have entered post-secondary institutions. One student has resided at Mickey’s House for three years and plans to graduate this year. As a non-profit we rely heavily on private donations to meet our annual budget of approximately $50,000.00. The budget covers the cost of live in house parents, food, utilities, house maintenance, insurance, and consumable items such as paper products, cleaning, etc.
Where we are going…….
Our Board is committed to ensuring Mickey’s House will continue to serve displaced students in the Tri-County area. Our goal is fourfold:
- Decrease in drop-out rates for male students that are displaced.
- Increase in academic grades, including GPA.
- Increase in student’s school attendance.
- Higher percentage of students pursue higher education
We have created a new Website, logo and developing a greater presence on Social Media to include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. Our hope is to create a greater awareness of Mickey’s House and what our mission is. By doing so we will be able to broaden our fundraising base and secure the future of Mickey’s House.We would like to house four students each year.
